Akshaya Tritiya, which is also known as Akha Teej or Akti. This is an annual festival celebrated by Hindus and Jain’s; however, the date for this festival can vary as it is taken into account as per the Gregorian calendar. This day is highly auspicious, and Hindus especially consider this as a very holy festival Hindu community.
The word Akshaya (अक्षय) means never diminishing. This is the day which is considered best for any new beginning or big investments like buying a new house, getting married, buying a new car, etc. Young women in few parts keep fast on this day to get a good bride and distribute fruits.
The day is regionally also significant for women, married or unmarried, who pray for the well-being of their men in their lives or their future partner. After prayers, they distribute sprouts (germinating gram), fresh fruits and sweets.
On this day, the moon is in the third phase, which is the key to the ever-growing wealth and harmony. This phase of the moon is considered as the rarest and auspicious event in the entire terrestrial movements as per the Gregorian calendar.

Lord Krishna gave “Akshaya Patra” a divine magical vessel to Draupadi (wife of Pandavas), while they had to spend time in the forest. This vessel is said to produce food for any number of people at any time of the day on request.
Goddess Parvati (wife of Lord Shiva) re-incarnated as Annapurna Devi (goddess of food and nourishment) on the Akshaya Tritya day.
Ved Vyasa who was a great sage started to narrate Mahabharta on this day, while Lord Ganesha himself write this in the scripture form.
The holy river Ganga brought on earth by Bhagiratha (king of the Ikshvaku dynasty) on this auspicious day.
On this day one should worship Laxmi Narayan and offer white lotus or white roses, as it brings a lot of good fortune.
On the day of Akshaya Tritiya keep 11 Kodi seeds tied in a Red cloth at the place you worship. Worship Goddess Laxmi with Kesar (saffron) and red flowers. Doing so will keep all your financial strains away throughout the year from you.
You should also worship Tulsi (Basil tree) along with goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu, doing so will bring Prosperity and Good luck.
On this day one should donate, Chana Dal (split chickpeas), watermelon, Rice, Clarified Ghee and powdered sugar, donating these things are considered auspicious on Akshaya Tritiya day.
One this day one must follow a special remedy for auspiciousness and profit in their home and business. On this day, one should put red Roli (also known as Mauli), Betel seeds and a coin in red cloth.
Also, one should light a lamp of ghee (clarified butter) on the right side of the main door(entrance of the house) regularly. Doing this brings a lot of prosperity and harmony from Goddess Laxmi.
