Megha Purnima or Paush Purnima has great religious significance in the Hindu religion. Purnima is defined as full moon day. According to the ancient scriptures, the bath in the river Ganga or Yamuna is considered very auspicious on the special occasion of Magha Purnima or Paush Purnima 2024. The day of Magha Purnima falls in the month of December to January but this time Magha Purnima 2024 is falling in the month of Februrary.
This is an old religious tradition that has been coming since ancient age. Devotees have a religious bath on this celebration. This ritualistic bath starts from the Magha Purnima which is the end of the winter season. The period of Maha Kumbh Mela belongs to this month Magha so it has religious significance in Hindu Mythology. Sangam place Prayag is the best of all for the religious bath. But if you find it is not assessable or in proximity you may visit the river Ganga to have a holy dip. Devotees also prefer to have bath pilgrimages like Ujjain, Allahabad, and Nasik. You should prefer to have an early bath in these rivers at the time of sunrise. After having a bath, devotees bestow water to worship the lord's sun. The sun is the god since the existence of this universe and apparent God so whatever you bestow or worship is considered worth reaching the god directly. Devotees start worshiping or indulging in religious practices after having the holy bath on the special occasion of Magha Purnima or Paush Purnima.

Shree Satyanarayana Katha is auspicious and devotees always hear this Katha while worshiping Lord Vishnu in every Ekadashi or every Purnima. Those devotees who observe fast will worship lord Vishnu and hear the Katha. You worship lord Vishnu with flowers, Incensed sticks, fruits, and Tulsi leaves. Tulsi leaves are essential to worship lord Vishnu. You bestow a special Bhog to Lord Vishnu after finishing the worship. It is a ritual to do the Aarti at the end of the Vrat Puja. You should distribute Prasad to everybody around you. So, you get the immense blessings of god.
Pushyabhishek Yatra is very popular on the special occasion of Paush Purnima. It can be observed in every temple of Lord Krishna. Devotees also do Kirtan or Bhajan and hear the story of Ramayana to get rid of every sin of their lives.
