On this day, it is said that Lord Shiva who's also known as the lord of destruction became the Adi Guru (or first Guru). Adiyogi (first Yogi) had 7 disciples who are often referred to as Saptarishis. These were the first disciples of lord shiva. All these Saptarishis (7 stars) later spread all the teaching from the first Yogi and spread it across the world. These teachings include Astrology, Yoga, Ayurveda Etc.
