The head of the home has four favourable and four adverse directions. Dwellers on the best layout and direction during construction so that to gain maximum benefits and positivity. This is done by integrating the relative functions of different parts of the house structure, objects and the layout with the ancient beliefs using directional alignment.

This great ancient treasure of India has certain principles that help in creating a balance between the elements of earth, air, fire, water and sky or the Panchabhutas. This study is an impressive and effective combination of art, science, astronomy and astrology. Vastu Shastra principles of design can be used for houses, gardens, roads, water features, shops and entire city or town.

Importance of Vastu

Vastu Shastra is a centuries-old science of building that uses architectural theories and philosophies, which are of great importance to any building as it impacts human life and quality of life. It is believed that Vastu Shastra creates a safe environment for human living and keeps negative elements away. The basic principle of Vastu Shastra dependent on a variety of natural energies that may include: -

• Energy received from the Earth

• Energy from sunlight

• Sun energy or solar energy

• Energy from air

• Energy from the sky

• Cosmic energy

• Energy of the Moon

Energy sources also include magnetic, thermal and electrical energy. When we positively and happily make use of all these energies, it provides us with great inner happiness, peace of mind, health and prosperity. Vastu can be applied to any kind of space, be it a room, house, commercial or residential property, bungalow, villa, temple, or when planning an entire city.  These include both small and big projects and undertakings.

Water, fire and air are the three forces that play an important role in creating complete harmony. According to Vastu, when these three forces are in the correct place, you will experience complete harmony and peace. On the other hand, if these are not in the correct space, such as air or fire in place of water or forces, then this combination can have an adverse effect on quality of life. This can create disharmony and other negative situations such as lack of goodwill and disturbance.

The principles of Vastu help in establishing harmony between water, earth, air, fire and sky elements in the environment. These five elements have a direct effect on performance, temperament, fate and other aspects of life. This Vidya or science is one of the oldest schools of India, which is related to the directions and the energies. By working on the basis of the directions, negative emotions can be positively changed for the better of human life. Deep knowledge of architectural craftsmanship also preserves life and creates ecstasy in people, therefore, living without such knowledge is insignificant.

Jagat and Vaastu artistry are mutual alternatives. Material science is an ancient science. Wise Indian Rishi(sage) Manisho developed this science to protect people from the evil forces prevailing in the world around us.  Vastu originates from the ancient architectural Hindu Vedas, an integral part of the Atharva Veda. As the human body is also made of elements of earth, water, fire, air and sky, these elements also affect life on Earth. The importance of land and the surrounding areas in building construction is very important. The astrologer can predict the auspiciousness of a plot of land is just by looking at the things that are around. The direction of a plot and its effect upon the plot can be found only through a thorough study and analysis of the principles of Vastu Shastra.

Every person wants his home to be beautiful and pleasant, where there a constant flow of positive energy, where the occupants are happy. To achieve such an ideal situation, it is necessary that the house is by the Vastu principles. If there are any Vastu faults in it, then an architectural improvement will be done. On the other hand, if the direction of the house or land is not correct, then no amount of money invested in such a house will bring happiness.  Vastu Shastra has also been adopted by non-Hindu builders and used in the construction work of Mughal Carpet Buildings, Egyptian Pyramids etc.

Importance of Vastu Shastra: -

Architectural effect is enduring because the tilt of the earth is eternal, the life on Earth depends on the basic effects and cause of the planets etc.  Vastu Shastra and Astrology are complementary to each other because both, one cannot exist without the other. All branches of astrology are interconnected with ancient scriptures, numerology, and Vastu Shastra. Once a building is constructed in accordance with the Vastu principle with all objects kept in the right area and the correct directions, the lives of those who live in such a home are peaceful and pleasant. Therefore it is appropriate that the building should be constructed in consultation with an architect who advices in accordance with the Vastu principles. The positive energies this make it an auspicious abode where family members can achieve great success in their work.
