Mother Brahmacharini

Mother Brahmacharini is worshiped on the second day of Navratri. This is the second form of Mother Durga. Mother Brahmacharini brings happiness by removing the pains and troubles of her devotees. When we worship Goddess Brahmacharini, there is an increase in penance, contentment, virtue and patience in us. Worshippers remain firm in the difficult times and struggles in life. Brahma means meditation or penance and charini is the one who does the penance.  In this way Brahmacharini means the one who does penance. In her right hand there is a chantmala or japmala and Kamandal in the left hand. The mother is wearing pure white clothes and has lotus flowers in her hands.

With the blessings of Mother Brahmacharini Devi, devotees will always win in life. On the second day of Durga Puja, she is worshipped in this form of Brahmacharini. With the help of Mother, all your troubles start to vanish and the work that is stuck becomes progressing again. This fast is also very rewarding for both married and unmarried women. After completing this fast, the obstacles in the marriage of unmarried girls will be removed. At the same time, all the problems that come in married life of married women will disappear.

Worship Method

On the second day, to please Goddess Brahmacharini, in the puja, use flowers, akshat, rolli, sandalwood or chandan in the procedure. Bathe the Mother with milk, curd, sugar, ghee and honey. After this, worship kalash devta, then worship the Navagrahas. When worshiping Goddess Brahmacharini, begin by chanting this mantra below with a flower in the hands.

 “Idhana kadapadmabhayamamshamalak kamandalu

Devi prasidhatu Mai Brahmacharinya Nutma”

After this, bathe the Goddess with Panchamrut and then offer various flowers, akshat, kumkum, shindoor(vermilion) to the divine mother. The Goddess loves jasmine and lotus flowers a lot. So offer her garlands of these flowers, mix ghee and camphor, and perform the aarti of the Goddess.

Like in these nine days, the mother is very pleased if you feed the poor, give bread to the cow or donate generously.
